Huang Ping, Ph.D. in Sociology (LSE, London, 1991), Senior Research Fellow and Professor (1997-), is now the Executive President, Chinese Institute of Hong Kong(2019-). Huang is also the President, Chinese Association of American Studies(2007-), President, Chinese Association of World Politics Studies(2017-), Vice President, Chinese Association for Hong Kong Macao Studies(2012-), Co-Chair, Institut Transcultra(2014-). 


Since 1992,Prof. Huang was working in Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, as its Deputy Director General, Institute of Sociology, Director General, Institute of American Studies, and Director General, Institute of European Studies, and most recently, the Chairperson, China CEEC Think Tank Network. 


Prof. Huang was elected as Vice President, International Social Science Council (ISSC), Vice President, International Institute of Sociology (IIS), and Board Member, United Nation Research Institute of Social Development(UNRISD). He worked in UNESCO as its Vice Chairman, Intergovernmental Council, Management of Social Transformation (MOST), and its Member, Review Committee for the Major Sciences Programmes. 


Prof. Huang is on the editorial board in British Journal of Sociology, Current Sociology, Global Social Policy, and Sociology of Development. He was a co-editor for Dushu(Readings), together with Wang Hui, during 1996-2006. 


Prof. Huang’s major research areas, and his books and articles, cover such issues as social development, labour migration, globalization, China-US and China-Europe Relations.
